In honor of the first ever Kids' Choice Sports (KCS) Awards – a night dedicated to epic fun and honoring huge names in sports - Nickelodeon hosted a line-up of summer events at ballparks across the U.S. giving fans the chance to show off their super fandom. The tour concluded with the Kids' Choice Sports Half-Court Shot Contest which gave kids from across Los Angeles area the chance to compete in a series of challenges. One finalist took the stage at the KCS Awards and had five chances to shoot a half-court shot to win $50,000 on live TV and... HE MADE IT!

"As part of the halftime show at Nickelodeon's Kids' Choice Sports 2014 held at Pauley Pavilion in Westwood, [15-year-old Ricardo Jacob Jr.] was given the chance to make a shot from half-court for $50,000...his father, Ricardo Sr., had to persuade his son to sign up for the first round when they were at a mall Saturday."
