Spreading Excitement for Summer Reading

In 2016, Scholastic hit the road to introduce book-lovers across the nation to the Summer Reading Road Trop Tour – two, branded RVs that visited key markets and priority events, with the goal of connecting kids with new books, esteemed authors, admired illustrators and beloved characters. Each RV hosted pop-up reading festivals with craft activities, an animated GIF station, author/illustrator signings, book sales and character meet & greets with Clifford the Big Red Dog and Geronimo Stilson the mouse!

Combined, the two RVs traveled over 10K miles, garnered over 6,615,000 highway impressions, executed 50 events with over 11,600 guests, and provided Scholastic with a cross-organizational platform that created unified events for internal teams.

Scholastic hit the road again in 2017 to continue garnering a love for reading during the summer break. Again, touring admired authors, illustrators, and characters via two-branded RVs with custom background artwork designed by author and illustrator, Dav Pilkey.
